Focus is the key to success. Do one thing, and do it well. This is the mantra that has lead Elizabeth Edwards throughout her incredible journey. Her path has taken her from scrubbing bathrooms as a child to being hired for her first job in strategy and operations at Deloitte to launching H Venture Partners, one of the world’s only female-founded and controlled venture funds.

Today, Elizabeth shares her story, which has involved investing in some of today’s biggest consumer brands. She gives her input on why you should always ask for what you want and shares her best tips for knowing you made the right decision. She shares why she loves investing in women, as well as some of her favorite investments–from beauty to baby products. She shares her criteria for the types of companies that she invests in, as well as her insights on why some companies have a hard time getting funded.

“Time kills all deals. It doesn’t matter how much people like you.”

– Elizabeth Edwards
