Hi, Cassandra! Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:

I’m Cassandra, a retired Federal Law Enforcement Officer turned entrepreneur. As VP of Community Relations of Better Fit Bedding™, this innovation is here to revolutionize the bed-making process with our patented Fitted Flat Sheets, Fitted Comforters, and Fitted Blankets. Designed with innovative corner pockets, our bedding slides under the mattress effortlessly, eliminating the hassle of centering sheets, lifting heavy mattresses, and making “hospital corners.” Better Fit Bedding™ represents the first substantial change in bedding construction since the introduction of the fitted sheet over 60 years ago. Our revolutionary design dramatically improves the daily routine of consumers, hotel housekeepers, and healthcare workers, offering a quicker and easier way to make beds perfectly every time.

What excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?

The opportunity to meet others in a different/new environment and learn what they do and to figure out how we can partner.

We love to see collaboration in the community! What made you take the leap to start your own business?

Financial freedom – you cannot achieve that by being an employee.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Yes, I did. I just had to figure out what I wanted to do that would not seem like a job.

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?

My marketing strategy is in progress and has some speed bumps, but we’re trying to figure it out.

We can definitely help you along the way! What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way and what did you learn from it?

Trying to find capital to obtain inventory, which we now have. Stay focused and consistent. A ‘no’ is just another opportunity to practice to get a YES!

We love that optimism! What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

Completing my Special Agent training at the FBI Academy in Quantico, VA.

An achievement for sure! Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

Do what you love and want to do, don’t let others dictate when, what you do, and don’t do. We all have only one life to live.

What’s a piece of advice you can share that you wish you’d known when you first started your Entreprenista journey?

Do not give up! One minor/major accomplishment a day or in a week is a positive movement forward.

What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

Started a 501(c)(3) that provides financial literacy to the community and college scholarships. The CORE Foundation – Community Organization for Resource Equity.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

Scaling the bedding business up in the hospitality and retail industries, then selling it in three to five years.
