Who are your customers?
Coaches, consultants, authors, experts — a digital brand that has something strong to say.
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
I am a former TV producer, TV expert and digital entrepreneur since 2007.
What made you take the leap to start your own business?
I wanted to be home and have the autonomy and freedom that comes from being your own boss. Being born into a family of entrepreneurs, it was a natural step.
Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
I was once of those 3rd graders on the blacktop selling stickers and hair ribbons. I was born this way.
Take us back to when you first launched your business; what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
When I first launched The F.A.M.E. Lab, I had this grand vision of how everything would unfold. I thought I had the perfect marketing strategy:
1. Leverage my existing food blogger network
2. Showcase my TV appearances as credibility boosters
3. Host glamorous launch events to attract high-profile clients
4. Secure speaking engagements at industry conferences
It felt like everything that could go wrong, did go wrong. I remember sitting in my makeshift home office (aka my kitchen table), wondering if I’d made a huge mistake. But here’s the thing – this chaos turned out to be the best thing that could have happened. It forced me to get creative, to be resilient, and to really listen to what the market needed rather than what I thought it wanted. It ended up: My initial marketing strategy was a lesson in being flexible enough to adapt when things don’t go as planned (which they rarely do!).
What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?
I was living the dream — a successful food blogger, featured on ‘Dr. Oz’ and ‘The Chew’, with a hit cocktail book promoted by Oprah. But life had other plans. My world turned upside down when, in three months, I survived a near-fatal car accident and lost my father-in-law to a tragic accident. Suddenly, sharing another chili recipe felt…empty. I was shaken to my core, questioning everything I’d built. This crisis became my biggest challenge: How do I find meaning again? How do I turn this pain into purpose? What I’ve Learned: 1: It’s okay to pivot — drastically. After therapy and group coaching, I realized my true calling was helping others find their voice. I established a PR firm, leveraging my experience to empower others. 2: Your past success can fuel your future, just differently. My TV appearances and book success weren’t wasted — they became tools to help others shine. 3: Confidence is a skill you can share. I discovered I had a knack for helping people show up and make money, whether on live TV or a TEDx stage. The power of “Why not me?” keeps me going and is truly the secret to my success.
What accomplishment are the most proud of to date in your business?
You know, when I look back at my journey, there’s one accomplishment that stands out above all others — and it’s probably not what you’d expect. My proudest accomplishment is the transformation of my brand from a traditional PR firm to a powerhouse platform where clients monetize their visibility. This shift has been game-changing. We’re not about landing media spots anymore — we’re about turning those appearances into revenue streams. Seeing a client not only shine on national TV but then leverage that exposure to launch a successful product line or sell out their coaching program — that’s what truly excites me.
Do you have any recent wins from the last year that you’d like to celebrate with our community?
Here are a few highlights that have me pinching myself: New York Post Feature: Talk about a bucket list moment! I landed a feature in the New York Post. Major Market TV Appearances: I had the incredible opportunity to appear on two of the largest market stations KTLA in Los Angeles and WPIX in New York. These appearances not only boosted our visibility but also allowed me to demonstrate firsthand how to leverage media spots for business growth. Launched The F.A.M.E. Lab: Our intensive program helped 40 entrepreneurs go from ‘hidden gems’ to ‘industry icons’. One participant landed a TEDx talk and tripled her speaking fees within two months of working together!
What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
I am working on a TV show that will be on Netflix to showcase what it actually means to be a digital entrepreneur and prove to our moms that we don’t post on Instagram for a living.
What is your top productivity tip?
As a former TV producer, I learned how to transform chaos into a seamless process, and that’s exactly what I do everyday. First, take a week to track all your activities and see where your time goes. Then, schedule specific blocks of time in your calendar for your daily tasks, marketing, social media, and lead generation. This way, you ensure that everything gets the attention it needs without feeling overwhelmed. By knowing exactly what needs to be done and when you’ll do it, you stay organized, focused, and on top of your game.
On the flip side, how do you avoid burnout?
To be honest, I don’t always avoid it. We all talk about burnout, but sometimes you have to lean into it. There are times when you need to work crazy hours to finish a project or fly in and out for a speaking engagement. For me, the key is recognizing when burnout is starting to creep in. Sure, I try to avoid it and take care of myself, but let’s be real — it happens. When it does, I take a few days to recharge and then get back to the grind. It’s all about finding balance, knowing when to push through, and when to rest. Remember, it’s okay to hustle hard, but it’s also okay to take a break and come back stronger.
What is your approach to work-life balance / integration?
My approach to work-life balance? Honestly, there is no balance. You have to focus on one thing at a time and release the guilt of not attending to everything all the time. I hear it especially from moms. Maybe I have a deeper perspective because I have kids in college. Did they miss me at all the school events? A little. Do they remember? No. What they remember from being little is the time I gave them where they felt seen, heard, and knew I was available. Not that I was always available, but if they needed me, they could find me.
What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?
One thing I wish I had known when I started my Entreprenista journey is the power of leaning into community. When I first started, I created a networking group for women, and 43 people showed up consistently for six months. But I didn’t understand the value or power of that community, or that it could even be a business. If I had my own community to lean on and ask questions, I might still be doing that today—though I’d definitely change the name because “Savvy Business Moms” just doesn’t ring my bell anymore.
When hiring, what is your go-to interview question?
When hiring, my go-to interview question is: “What stories do you play over and over again in your mind?” This question is a game-changer. It delves deep into their internal dialogue, revealing how they perceive themselves and their experiences. It helps me understand their mindset, their resilience, and their level of self-awareness.
Are you a Mamaprenista? If so, please share your best advice for simultaneously managing a business and a family
YES. My advice is to be honest and transparent with yourself and everyone around you. Balance is a myth, some days your business will need you more, and other days your family will. Let your family know when you’re swamped with work, and be clear with your team about your family’s needs. I only work from 9-5 and never on weekends. Setting these boundaries helps me maintain a a schedule that they can all count on. You have to be kind to yourself, give yourself just a little more grace then you would give a friend. Things won’t always go as planned, and that’s okay, embrace the chaos and celebrate all those small victories.
What’s the one app on your phone you absolutely cannot live without and why?
The one app on my phone I absolutely cannot live without is TikTok. It’s my escape. I dive into trends, wavy and curly hair tutorials, fashion insights, reality shows, and shopping tips. It’s a perfect blend of fun, inspiration, and a bit of guilty pleasure that keeps me refreshed and in the loop.
What is your favorite business tool or solution and why?
My team. They’re the backbone of everything I do. Their creativity, dedication, and expertise are what drive our success. Having a strong, supportive team means I can rely on their skills and insights, allowing us to tackle challenges head-on and achieve our goals together. They’re not just a resource—they’re my greatest asset.
What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenistas?
My advice would be the mantra I tell my clients, my kids, and frankly myself almost every morning —”WHY NOT ME?” Embrace this mindset. Whenever doubt creeps in or challenges seem insurmountable, remind yourself that you are just as capable and deserving of success as anyone else. Believe in your potential, seize opportunities, and don’t let fear hold you back.
