Describe your business in a few words:
My name is Sarah Magidoff, and I’m the designer and brand strategist behind my design studio Canopy, where I help emerging founders build unforgettable brands using a stress-free, hustle-free process of design. I also founded the Slow Entrepreneur Movement where I help hard-working entrepreneurs work less, while getting more done, so they can make room for what matters most.
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
Architectural design!
Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
My main form of marketing was to connect with my existing group of friends, mostly creatives, starting new businesses who were in need of design support. I also reached out to professionals in the wedding and event industry to find opportunities to use my design skillset to support their needs and the needs of their clients. Word-of-mouth marketing through my existing network continues to be a tremendous source for leads.
What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?
Graduating architecture school!

What excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?
I'm excited to connect with other self-employed business owners to support and care for one another, and create moments for those impromptu "water cooler" chats we often miss out on working for ourselves, outside of an office setting.
