Describe Your Business in a few words:
I am Melissa Turner, a dental entrepreneur. I am a dental hygienist who has launched several businesses. I am an influencer and speaker to make dentistry a better experience for dental patients and dental providers.
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
I've been in dentistry since I was a teenager, and I will always be a licensed dental hygienist at heart!
Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
Yes! I've come from a long familiar line of entrepreneurs!
Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
I soft-launched my business by creating a community from scratch: a group of folks who I knew would need my services. Then, a few years into it I monetized the community.
What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?
I started my business in my lowest year ever - the year after my first child was born and I was struggling with severe postpartum depression. It's amazing what can happen when one is in the depths of despair!
Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?
I do! But I believe it is a privilege...one we have to work hard for!
