U.S. Navy Vet Natasha Norris On Her Chemical-Free Skincare

Template-Website-Member-Feature-Banner-1-2

Hi, Natasha! Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:

I’m Natasha Norris, Owner of Skincare by CMG. Last year I retired after 26 years of public service, proudly serving in the U.S. Navy. I started in the beauty industry in 2013 with a multibillion-dollar cosmetics brand, based in Dallas, Texas. The discipline, focus, and perseverance I acquired from my military training have been advantageous in the beauty sector, enabling me to work my way up to the top 2% of the company in seven months. I admired the values of the business and the independence it afforded to countless men and women but, for me, it was seeing someone’s confidence grow as they watched their skin transform that I really found appealing. Given the prevalence of bullying and low self-esteem in today’s world, I am motivated to keep doing everything in my power to assist someone who is self-conscious about their skin to feel more confident. Skincare by C.M.G. is dedicated to empowering individuals to embrace their natural beauty and achieve healthy, radiant, and youthful skin through our exceptional range of professional skincare products.

Such an impressive resume and thank you for your service, Natasha! What excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?

The opportunity to network and grow alongside other founders, leaders, and women business owners.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

I wanted more! I wanted to provide my customers with skincare solutions that would work indefinitely and that were chemical-free. I love to see women who become more self-confident after restoring their skin to its natural radiance using safe and environmentally conscious products.

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?

My marketing plan was to utilize social media, exihibitions, pop-us, local retail stores as ways to get my brand out there. Slowly but surely we are building our brand using these channels.

What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way and what did you learn from it?

Marketing and building my brand….I’m STILL learning, I haven’t quite mastered it yet.

We’re all still learning and growing from each other! What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

Launching my skincare line which is named after my grandmother Charlie Mae Green.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

YES. The best tip I can provide is you HAVE to make time for yourself daily! You can’t pour from an empty cup which is one reason why self-care is so important.

We completely agree! What’s a piece of advice you can share that you wish you’d known when you first started your Entreprenista journey?

I wish I would’ve known about this community!

We’re so glad you found your place here! What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

We recently added our products to a local store which has been well received thus far.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

GROWTH! We hope to grow our brand awareness and be a competitive force in the beauty industry. Additionally, we hope to increase our contributions to non-profit organizations formalized to assist motherless girls and young women in need of mentorship.
