“All we have to say is, ‘Today is the day I do not quit. I'm not gonna focus on tomorrow. Today is the day I do not quit.’ And so, to be able to walk away from a course or a podcast conversation or off a stage or off a plane saying, ‘Well, today wasn't the day I quit, I'm gonna pat myself on the back.’”

Jasmine reflects on growing up without entrepreneurship feeling like a realistic option for her future:
“My father immigrated from Mexico. My mother is from Puerto Rico and they met in East Los Angeles... I grew up seeing people go in clean hotels or cut lawns and so in my mind starting a business was just as... big or lofty as doing the Olympics or being the president and so it just never crossed my mind... I actually didn't grapple with the question of whether or not I could start a business until I was 25 years old.”
After her mother’s cancer relapse, Jasmine was forced to reevaluate the future she had planned for herself:
“When I left law school, it left a vacuum of sorts... And my mom was facing... a nine year battle with brain cancer and we were told to make funeral plans... it was one of those life moments that shake you so hard and force you to say, okay, what do you actually want? Because there's the should... What do you want to do? And that was the first time that I grappled with it.”
She shares how building her photography business taught her the real power of personal branding:
“What I quickly realized early on was that people weren't buying or investing in photos as much as they were investing in a photographer... I started seeing distinctly in Los Angeles... people are not buying a cake, they're buying who the baker... somebody's not buying a website, they're buying the graphic designer and what they get to say and feel about that experience.”
Jasmine explains why founders don’t need to become someone else in order to stand out:
“You don't have to be the fastest, you don't have to be the best, you don't have to be the best looking, you don't have to be the youngest or the oldest or the whitest or the blackest. You can just be you and put it out in such a way that gets people to care about it so that they're willing to spend more, wait longer, talk about you in greater degrees and feel as if they're a part of your success and journey.”
She opens up about the messy, behind-the-scenes reality of launching her first online course:
“I was literally watching videos... Googling what is a lead and what is acquisition?... My husband and I spent two days just trying to build and figure it out... We literally looked up at each other... and we high five and we're like, ‘We made fire!’... And then I taught a class... and I'm seeing people buy and I'm like, ‘holy God, it's happening.’”
Jasmine shares the perspective that continues to carry her through the hardest moments in entrepreneurship:
“It's so embarrassing to do a digital live class and nobody shows... It's so embarrassing that you make an offer and nobody buys. I have been there... Today is the day I do not quit. I'm not gonna focus on tomorrow. Today is the day I do not quit... today wasn't the day I quit. I'm gonna pat myself on the back.”
