The Impact of This Year’s #HerforShe Movement with The Hershey Company and Entreprenista

Hershey Entreprenista Impact & Scholarships - Blog Piece

What does the HERforSHE Movement Mean for Women Across the Globe?

When Entreprenista was invited to participate in The Hershey Company’s global cause marketing campaign, #HerforShe, we wanted to help make a real and lasting impact.

The Hershey Company’s award-winning #HerforShe campaign started in Brazil in 2020 with the mission to make the invisible woman visible. In 2022, seven markets participated in transforming Hershey’s iconic Milk Chocolate Bar wrapper into a celebration of cultural female icons, their accomplishments, and the impact these Sheroes have made in their communities.

Thanks to Hershey Brazil, Hershey India, Hershey Canada, and Hershey Mexico, 70+ Women were featured on Entreprensita’s Media platforms, including our podcast, website, social media channels and at virtual events that lead to meaningful connections. These women’s voices were amplified on Entreprenista through over 37 million impressions, and over 1 million engagements from readers in India, Mexico, Brazil, the US, and Canada.

“As a company that embraces diversity and equity, we saw a unique insight into how we can make visible the role of forgotten or somewhat invisible women who make such an important difference in our society,” said Santhi Ramesh, CMO for Hershey International. “These campaigns celebrate women while communicating our brand values and the values we share with our consumers. The user generated content is real and authentic and as a result is able to break through and resonate strongly with consumers.”

We saw so much positive engagement on this content (much of it user generated), and women nominating women to be part of the #Herforshe movement! We’re thrilled to have made a meaningful impact, reaching tens of millions of people across the globe with the messages of so many women who deserve to be celebrated year-round!

Hershey sponsored the launch of The Entreprenista Podcast Network’s new show: Startups in Stilettos, where we featured the stories of six brave entrepreneurial women, including Cassity Brown, founder of St. Brown and Co; Jill Apgar, founder of Coco Beans; Eliza Molina CEO of COVEDOZA; Jamie Banks, co-founder of Change of Scenery; Leenanna Gantt of TookTake; and Brea Fullerton of Shinery. Be sure to tune in here and subscribe to our latest show!

Hershey also presented 15 Entreprenista League Scholarships to women in four countries, including Brazil’s Michelle Meirelles, founder of Coffee Club and One Love for Kids; India’s Sneha Meghe, Dedicated Yoga Practitioner and Teacher, Susi Cabello writer and producer from Mexico, and Erica Jacobs, Canadian founder of 100% Skate Club. Welcome to The Entreprenista League! You can read more about our newest members on our site here.

To further extend women-forward storytelling, Hershey donated $100,000 to Girl Up, a nonprofit committed to advancing girls’ skills, rights and opportunities to be leaders to amplify the voices of girls and women who are making a difference around the world. Founded by the United Nations Foundation in 2010, Girl Up’s leadership development programs have impacted more than 125,000 girls through 5,000 clubs in 130 countries and all 50 U.S. states, inspiring a generation of girls to be a force for gender equity and social change.

Thanks to Hershey, presenting sponsor of Entreprensita’s International Women’s Day Global Event, we featured a dynamic panel of women to discuss gender equity and showcase women’s talent! Biet Simkin’s spoken word performance brought us to tears just minutes into the event and we closed with Tennille Amor’s hit, ‘I am a Girl.’ In case you missed it, you can watch the video replay here.

This Mother’s Day, Entreprenista will be honoring and celebrating women during the Celebrate Mamaprenistas – Creating Work-Life Balance. During a panel style event, Entreprenista will showcase how you can have a family and a career and manage it all harmoniously. The theme of the event is community! We rise together and can reach our business goals quicker through community and shared resources. Panelists include Stephanie Cartin, Co-founder of Entreprenista, Socialfly and Markid; Michelle Meirelles, founder of Coffee Club and One Love for Kids; Tara Clark, founder of Modern Mom Probs; Denise Castro, founder of Virtual Mom Collective; and Ingrid Read, founder of Working Mom Kind! We’ll also be giving away Entreprenista League Scholarships for moms! So be sure to register here, and join us on May 24th at 12pm EST!
