Teqnizan Founder Rama Prasad on Creating Functional and Fashionable Earbuds

First, let’s get to know Rama!

Rama Prasad is the Founder CEO of Teqnizan located in Minneapolis. Teqnizan has explored, invented, patented, and is selling wireless bluetooth audio earrings. The earrings look and feel like jewelry earrings, and function like an earbud audio device.

Rama, what excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?

The entrepreneurship minded women that own or support small businesses.

What made you take the leap to start Teqnizan?

I was curious and excited by the path of taking a new and better idea to product and sales scaling.

What was your background prior to becoming an entreprenista?

Engineer and technical leader in large global IT corporations.

So Rama, did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

I discovered this interest mid-way through my career.

Take us back to when you first launched Teqnizan, what was your marketing strategy during the early days?

I went to local events and presented the idea and business. We were not selling or offering anything back then.

Entreprenistas face daily challenges. What has been your biggest challenge so far?

Fund raising has been a challenge for me. Located in Minneapolis is a bit more out of the SFO, LA and NYC metro area.

What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

Getting product to market from an idea.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

Take time off, and do not focus on what did not get done.

What’s a piece of advice you can share that you wish you’d known when you first started your Entreprenista journey?

If you meet investors take the investment, it helps accelerate the development.

We received an innovation grant from state of MN.
