Hi, Shaina! Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:

Hi, I’m Shaina, founder and author of The Weekly Sync. We are a boutique media brand offering cycle-based business strategy, lifestyle inspo, and cosmic trends to help female entrepreneurs quickly and easily create abundant business systems that SUPPORT the empire they’re building, AND the comfort and leisure they deserve. Our mission is to provide access to the resources, visibility, and community that women often lack. Our weekly newsletter makes operating a sales flow simple, profitable, and aligned with our unique energy patterns.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I have been a strategy and systems expert since 2010, often incorporating my education in women’s health sciences, holistic nutrition, and human design into the work I do.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

I was diagnosed with PCOS in 2012, and after struggling with getting the right help, I ended up deciding to go to school to learn how to help myself. I learned so much about my body and realized that many women have no clue how their bodies work. I took this knowledge into my job and became a holistic business advisor to female entrepreneurs, making sure that I not only helped them create better business systems, but that I educated them on ways to prioritize their mind, body, and spirit as well. I observed certain patterns over the years of what the most successful clients did and did not do. Armed with this insight, I created the ultimate system to hacking your sales funnel using your hormones! 90% of female entrepreneurs are solopreneurs. I knew that in order to make the biggest impact, I needed to get this information out to all of the women out there struggling to do all the things on their own and turn a profit. I’ve modeled The Weekly Sync after the amazing women I’ve been fortunate enough to work with, and the principles they live by.

Such an inspiring journey, Shaina! Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Yes! I’ve always taken a chance on myself and my wild ideas! This isn’t the first business I’ve started, but it is the one that I am most proud and passionate about. It takes a piece from every experience I’ve had and completes the puzzle of what my purpose is in this life.

Take us back to when you first launched your business; what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?

I have spent the last year working on The Weekly Sync and we just launched in January. I have tapped into my network of entrepreneurs for starters and that has been quite successful. We are now at a point where we need to utilize social media, so I’ve recently hired a Marketing Manager for this next phase. I actually like to take frequent social media breaks and marketing outside of my own network has never been my strong suit, so I knew I would need to hire an expert. I’ll let you know how it goes in about a year LOL.

What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?

Patience will forever be my biggest challenge. I’m still learning how to be patient with myself and with the process of growth. There have been so many times that I let impatience win, quit too early, and didn’t get to see what magic could have been made. So far, I’ve learned that there has never been a time I wasn’t taken care of, so I don’t have to let fear of not having enough dictate my timeline. I can find joy in the process.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

I have big plans for The Weekly Sync. I am currently developing a brand ambassador program that will give visibility to women and their passions. Over the next few years, you can expect to find a strong community of amazing entrepreneurs building a life and business so good, it inspires the next generation of powerful women.

What is your top productivity tip?

Read The Weekly Sync! But honestly, you can cycle sync anything (even if you don’t have a period or your cycle is irregular). Reconnecting to your body’s wisdom is the best productivity hack.

On the flip side, how do you avoid burnout?

I avoid burnout by knowing I can thrive in my comfort zone. I don’t have to hustle. I don’t have to push myself. I am all about living a soft-life and prioritizing my needs – I learned this from the most successful clients I’ve worked with.

What is your approach to work-life balance / integration?

First, I’ve designed my business to be just a joyous extension of my life, so I don’t feel like there is a separation of the two. Second, I prioritize my needs FIRST before I do anything for my business. I deserve happiness, period. I don’t need to earn it. I give myself permission to live the life I want now, instead of forcing myself to wait until I reach *insert some arbitrary goal here* first.

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?

I wish I knew that being a solopreneur didn’t mean I had to figure it all out alone. But I truly believe any mistakes I’ve made so far are just stepping stones to what is meant for me, so I don’t know if I would have wanted things to go differently when I started.

You’re never alone here and we’re so happy to support you along the way! What’s the one app on your phone you absolutely cannot live without and why?

I can’t live without my Finch app! I use it for self-care reminders and for other things I need to remember, like meetings and deadlines. It gamifies my life and business which makes life a little more fun 🙂

What is your favorite business tool or solution and why?

I love Airtable. You can do just about anything on that platform, and I love a good spreadsheet! I’ve created everything from financial calculators to huge databases.

What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenistas?

I went through a coaching program once and this one session changed my life. The coach had us visualize and write down our ideal life. When we were done she asked, “Why can’t you have those things now?” That question changed everything for me. I was the only thing stopping me. My advice is to think about what you wish your life could be, then start slowly integrating pieces of it into your life NOW. Don’t wait to do or have the thing. Don’t let yourself be the obstacle in the life you want. When you take care of you, your business will always thrive.
