Hi, Peighton! Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:

Hi, I’m Peighton. I am the CEO and Founder of Luna Leaf and app designed to revolutionize women’s wellness by aligning lifestyle choices with the menstrual cycle.

Who are your customers?

Women between the ages of 26-45.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I have always been in female-focused service industries from a hairstylist to a healer, I’ve supported women to feel better and more empowered in their bodies for over two decades now.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

Because of the burning desire I felt in my soul the moment the idea came to me to create this solution for women everywhere.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Yes! My dad has been an entrepreneur my entire life and at times inspired me to be one (and at times scared me from being one, hello 2008 recession) I used to want to own my own salon!

Take us back to when you first launched your business; what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?

I am still in the development of my marketing, it is currently social media as the prototype is in development.

What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?

Men’s confusion and lack of true understanding of the idea and concept. But it has taught how to speak with them about what I am creating from a place of getting to educate them.

What accomplishment are the most proud of to date in your business?

The consistency in continually showing up for this business, day in and day out.

Do you have any recent wins from the last year that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

Passing a notoriously difficult Pitch evaluation inside of the Founder Institute!

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

Launch! I have so many iterations and concepts I plan to bring to the app to make it even better for the users, think partners app (to get a heads up of how their spouse might be feeling that day) to customized workout plans!

What is your top productivity tip?

Understand what time of day you work best and time block that time each day to get a little, or a lot done for your business!

On the flip side, how do you avoid burnout?

I still take time each morning for my morning routine, sauna, meditate, workout, get ready for the day. I also make sure to take a break after the kids get home from school to go outside and spend time as a family.

What is your approach to work-life balance / integration?

Head down focus when my family is at school and work so that when they are home I can give them undivided attention.

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?

It will be one of your greatest personal growth experiences of your life if you let it.

Are you a Mamaprenista? If so, please share your best advice for simultaneously managing a business and a family

I’ve been a military spouse for over a decade and a mom so deployments with kids while working taught me how to time block and plan ahead, so instead of lots of little trips to the store each week, we plan out our meals and do one big shop on the weekends – that one has been a game changer for us.

What’s the one app on your phone you absolutely cannot live without and why?

It WILL be Luna Leaf this summer!

What is your favorite business tool or solution and why?

Canva! It is magical and affordable and just downright amazing for anything from email templates to billboard layouts!
