Describe your business in a few words:
I'm Kamal Brar, Founder of Healthify Tea and Certified Holistic Health Coach specializing in autoimmune conditions and weight loss.
Healthify Tea is a result of dissatisfaction and a consequent want to offer a superior, more delicious, fresher tea with focus on its health benefits. Our company is one of a kind in its temperament set apart by its way of life, values and targets. We are a company founded by a mother daughter duo - I know the importance of right nutrition to achieve good health, having suffered from autoimmune disease myself, and my daughter, Reet Jhajj, joined me to bring high quality, great tasting “health in a cup” tea to the world.
Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
When we first started, we were very overwhelmed by the whole social media and marketing scenario. We started out on Instagram slowly getting the word out even before we launched our products and also spreading the word through our family and friends!
What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?
Becoming a trademarked company and having products on walmart.com.
Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?
Yes, but it's extremely hard in the first couple of years of starting a business. My best work/life balance tips:
1. Set a timed schedule for the work day
2. Mandatory days off
3. Take breaks away from all screens
4. Delegate work that can be done by others
5. Most of all, make sure to love what you do so it doesn't feel like work!
