Describe your business in a few words:

I am a Coloradoan. I am a mother to a beautiful and funny 6-month-old redheaded son named Brody. I am also a dog mom to two rescue pups named Boston and Bella. I am married to an entrepreneur, and he encouraged me to launch my law firm. Hagen | Nares PLLC launched January 1, 2022. We are different than any other law firm, specializing in one core mission–helping families affected by serious injuries get relief. We are a modern, professional, and compassionate personal injury firm serving all of Colorado and hopefully other states in the future.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I was a lawyer for 8 years.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

No, not until I saw my husband’s success as an entrepreneur. Then, I started realizing that I could manage the law firms I worked for better myself.

What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

Deciding to invest in myself by quitting my high six-figure job after maternity leave.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

Always put family first. There is always work that can be done at night, early morning, or weekends but you will never regret spending time with family. The 9 to 5 is an outdated concept. Work different hours that work for you and your family.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

Growing social media presence to inform the public about laws applicable to their life. I would also like to grow the firm and gain media recognition for trials/impactful cases.
