Hello Jenna! Please share a brief introduction about yourself.

I’m Jenna, the President of Maverick Events & Consulting, and I’m the #TheEventAdvocate. I believe that all businesses should be using events & event marketing to grow their brand awareness, increase sales, and increase customer loyalty.

So Jenna, what excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?

As a woman in business, I know that our challenges are different. I’m looking forward to learning from and also helping other woman entrepreneurs through our unique challenges.

What made you take the leap to start Maverick Events & Consulting?

I felt that there wasn’t anyone in the market really championing events for business growth. In this post-pandemic era, I believe that connecting with your audience is even more important than ever and that events provide great ROI for this.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

15 years in corporate events and brand strategy.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

No, this was not in my plans.

So Jenna, Entreprenistas face daily challenges. What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way?

Nailing my messaging

What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

I grew a “cost center” events program to over $2mil in yearly revenue for a company.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

No, I don’t. I’m not sure that there is ever a true balance particularly when you are an entrepreneur. My feeling is that if your brand/business truly aligns with you authentically, your life will feel balanced without delineating the two. I do think that taking time to rest and recuperate are incredibly important!

What’s a piece of advice you can share that you wish you’d known when you first started your Entreprenista journey?

You don’t need a business plan, a website, or an investor to get started. What you need is a customer.
