“Try to help them understand why we’re doing what we’re doing and let them see how it’s going to benefit them in the long term, why we have to be compliant, why we have to be profitable, why we need to market our business. And really talk to them—always going back to what we called in school the ‘Three Legged Stool.’ So, we’re always trying to balance profitability, access, and quality care.”

With a master’s in public health, Latrice Smith noticed the massive gap between healthcare and the legal world. After pursuing a law degree, she founded her own firm to combine both fields, providing high-quality care and services while handling the intricacies of legal and business strategy. Today, she is the founder and principal attorney at Thomas Law and Consulting LLC, where she empowers entrepreneurs with strategic legal and business solutions.
