So Jac, what excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?
I love helping women grow their businesses. I’ve only recently joined, but the community engagement and interaction has already made an impact on me. My goal is to provide value to the community and members as well.
How did you work up the nerve to take the leap to start your own business?
I feel like entrepreneurship is in my blood. Since college I have had a side hustle or business. After working in VC-backed start-ups, I realized my ability to impact businesses was greater by working across several companies, angel investing and advising through my own company.
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
In my corporate life, I worked in digital or innovation areas of the business – sort of like a start-up within a big company. Then, I took the leap to working at VC-backed start-ups. I love the all hands on deck, hyper growth mode of small businesses.
So Jac, would you say you you always knew you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
Somewhere inside me I knew I would have my own company before it became a conscious realization.
What are your thoughts on work/life balance? Is it achievable? Or a far off myth?
Balance is so subjective. I think you have to prioritize what is important to you, lean into those areas and not apologize for the other things that don’t happen. It’s about making my work fit within my life. Sometimes it’s more seamless; other times you feel like it’s all falling apart. The most important element to being success has been having a supportive partner and open communication. Working together as a team in life allows me to get what I need done for work.
What’s a piece of advice you can share that you wish you’d known when you first started your Entreprenista journey?
I wish I understood the true value of my community. It’s amazing and humbling how my friends and colleagues throughout the years are willing to help you, celebrate your wins and work through setbacks with you.
Jac, you have lots to celebrate! What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?
I’m launching a new course for small business founders and owners – Business Development Bootcamp – to help grow your business through partnerships, collaborations and business development.
