Ashley Rector is a former attorney and digital magazine owner. She brings a decade of marketing expertise to the table, launching successful social media campaigns that have grossed over one million views and most recently garnered over 65,000 application downloads for a client. Before fully transitioning into the marketing field, Ashley launched a print and digital magazine in 2015 which she successfully scaled before selling in 2021. She formalized and expanded Laura Alexandria Marketing in 2019, bringing in top talent to execute strategic branding and social media campaigns for mom-and-pop organizations to professional sports teams.

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

I wanted the freedom to choose my destiny, my schedule and to pursue things I am truly passionate about!

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I was an attorney working for a publicly traded company!

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Yes. I was fortunate enough to grow up in a family of entrepeneurs and instilled in me the belief that owning your own business was the way to freedom.

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?

I launched my business and started sharing with friends/family first. Moving to social media and doing active outreach!

What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way and what did you learn from it?

I learned that sometimes it is okay to fail, to re-assess and re-strategize. As you evolve, your business evolves too!
