Dr. Sarah Nadimpalli of Same Team Childcare on streamlining the nanny-parent relationship

Copy-of-Website-Header-Template-12

Describe your business in a few words:

I am Dr. Sarah Nadimpalli of Same Team Childcare, a mom, nurse, and researcher.  Through using my academic lens and personal experiences in working with nannies, I have streamlined the nanny-parent search, hire, and onboarding process by creating a time-efficient online course both parents and nannies take together.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I have a PhD in Nursing and completed 2 post-doctoral experiences.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

In some ways yes, I grew up on a farm selling my creations and artworks at our roadside fruit stand.  It was always a thrill when someone bought and seemed to enjoy my products!

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?

I used a very organic marketing strategy by starting a Facebook group and Instagram page.  I worked with a virtual assistant to grow these audiences, and I launched to these audiences to validate my product before creating an online, evergreen funnel.

What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

I love the testimonials I hear about our online course!  Parents have learned to better screen nanny candidates and have detected red flags as a result of taking our course.  Nannies are thrilled that a parent is stepping up and gaining exposure to the right tax, legal, communication, and onboarding actions to take when working with nannies to achieve success.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

I am not great at this since work is typically stimulating and often joyful to me.  However, I try to get roughly 30 minutes of exercise a day and doodle in my art journal to decompress.  Inside my course, I have Nurse Sarah’s Self-Care Prescription that I implore all my students to fill out and commit to some form of self-care that works for them, even if it’s just 15 minutes a day.

What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

I am so thrilled to have completed Jacques Hopkins’ Online Course Bootcamp.  Through his coaching, in 3 months I went from a scrappy, beta version of my project to have a fully functional evergreen funnel with excellent systems and software.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

My dream is that all parents and nannies have the knowledge and action steps from inside my course in their back pockets.  I want to shift the culture between parents and nannies so there is clarity, productivity, and ultimately parents can feel able to go to work and do that bit of self-care with ease.  Nannies and in-home caregivers can be our modern village of support, so it’s time to shine a light on that and bring the parent-nanny relationship out from the dark ages.
