Describe your business in a few words:

I am a CPA, podcast host, digital content creator, and co-founder of a blow-dry bar.


What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I worked for boutique accounting firms, a publicly traded utility and high net worth trust companies.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

I never in a million years have thought I would be an entrepreneur. I’m entering my 8th year and I can’t imagine my life any other way.

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out, and did it go as planned?

Word of mouth was 100% how I got the word out for my accounting practice. That developed into a beautiful network that has helped spread the word about my digital courses and my podcast.

What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

I developed an onboarding process that helps me determine fit before I bring on a client, it helps me keep my practice heading in the direction I want it to go.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

YES! I make sure my schedule allows me to volunteer in my kid’s classes, I make time for workouts and cooking dinner for my family are all things that I have built into my day / week. These things make me really happy and I function much better when I am able to add that structure into my day.

What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

I launched my first digital course: Taxes for Entrepreneurs and launched my podcast: The Empowered CPA

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

I plan to continue my podcast which I absolutely love doing as well as creating additional courses for various niches.
