Hi, Michele! Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:
Hi, I'm Michele. I am an intuitive guide, a consultant, an author, keynote speaker with 15+ years of experience in start-up marketing. My mission is to help thought leaders and creative thinkers achieve their potential, align with their goals, and cultivate peace in their business relationships.
Who are your customers?
Conscious entrepreneurs, coaches, service providers who are looking to put out their most authentic, soul aligned offers, as well as collaborate with amazing partners along the way.
What made you take the leap to start your own business?
I was doing it as a side hustle for several years, but then when COVID happened and my company got hit hard, circumstances pushed me to go full time with my business.
Take us back to when you first launched your business; what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
I tried it all: social media marketing, virtual summits, podcasts, bundles, ads...but at the end of the day all my clients came from networking and referrals. I wish i just doubled down on what worked for me from the get go :)
What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?
I had to peel back the layers that made me want to hustle hard as an entrepreneur. I wanted to be omnipresent even as a solopreneur. There were several coaching containers, marketing services that I paid top dollar for that I regretted, which was a reflection of my lack of confidence and discernment at the time. But in turn it made me innovate and put in place much more cost efficient practices.
What accomplishment are the most proud of to date in your business?
I am most proud of putting together a methodology called "Sell Your Brilliance," to help individuals understand who they are, who they are here to serve and how to share their message. I am in the process of getting it into a book so more people can get access to a process that could help them transform into the person they are meant to be faster.
What's next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
My focus this year is on building offers for my community — collaborative courses, retreats, cross promoting sister communities and more. I will also be taking what I learned in working with entrepreneurs and apply it to the corporate world — helping leaders and teams understand and communicate their brilliance.
What is your top productivity tip?
Select 2-3 priorities for the week and put everything else on backlog. If a task has sat in your backlog for more than a few months, consider whether to delete it all together. Keep a log of your past content, you never know when you can re-use it in different contexts (I have it all in a notion table).
What is your approach to work-life balance / integration?
Start saying no a lot more. Focus on the big opportunities that are really going to move your business forward, as well as the projects that are genuinely fun for you and forget everything else. When I became more selective and focused, I started to enjoy my work a lot more and I also carved out more self-care time as a result.
What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?
I think I had high expectations regarding a timeline for success and that actually made me physically and mentally sick. I had to surrender into a belief that all of my efforts were stacking up over time and were molding me into the person I needed to be to receive all the rewards and recognition. I learned to be happy with the micro steps I was taking over time, knowing everything was moving me in the right direction, and now that I look back, Im so proud of how far I have come.
When hiring, what is your go-to interview question?
What is the role that you want to move in to (rather than the one you are applying for now)? Where and why is there a gap and how can we get you closer to your personal goals? If there is an intersection with what they love and what you will need, then its a win win.
What is your favorite business tool or solution and why?
I have many favorites but my latest favorite is ZeroWork, which I am currently programming to do automated outreach for me for lead generation.
What advice do you have for aspiring Entreprenistas?
Be selective about whom you share your ideas and aspirations with until its fully formed and launched. People that don't really know where you are going can form opinions that can put a damper on your spirit and momentum. Some things are meant to incubate before they come to life and out in the open.
