Julissa Jose of Harlem Botanica on creating a life enhanced by fragrance

Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:

My name is Julissa Jose, and I fell in love with fragrance at a young age. But my passion turned to pain when I developed a severe allergy in my late 20’s. The petrochemical-laden fragrances I loved didn’t love me back. Cutting them out eased my symptoms but left me in a world without scent, without a way to express or amplify my emotions. Craving a life enhanced by fragrance, I found a way to reclaim the power of scent – by establishing Harlem Botanica.

I would like to see them in clean beauty stores.
