Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:

I’m Jenny Zook, creator of Style School, and I’ll show you how to edit your closet and figure out your body shape so you can find clothes that don’t make you cringe when you look in the mirror without breaking the bank.

Who are your customers?

Elder Millennials looking to figure out how to dress their changing bodies in this next phase of life!

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

Middle School Language Arts teacher/Instructional Coach

What made you take the leap to start your own business?

Having twins + Covid

Take us back to when you first launched your business; what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?

When I first started the only thing I used was social media with a small following....and shocker, that didn't go as planned because social media isn't a stand alone marketing strategy!

What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way so far and what have you learned from it?

My biggest challenge is growth! I have learned that I need to get out from behind my screen and connect with women as human beings in order to make that happen.

What accomplishment are the most proud of to date in your business?

Customer retention!

Do you have any recent wins from the last year that you'd like to celebrate with our community?

I launched my Style School membership in June of 2023 and have retained 92% of those who signed up from the very beginning!

What's next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

I expect that Style School is going to explode and that it will start bringing in a full time income.

What is your top productivity tip?

Getting dressed and ready each day.  Because when I feel good when I look in the mirror, my confidence goes up, and when I feel confident, I can conquer the world!

On the flip side, how do you avoid burnout?

Actually resting instead of constantly powering through

What is your approach to work-life balance / integration?

I have pretty strict boundaries for myself.  When my kids are home, I almost never work so that I can keep things separate. And that also means not saying yes to things that I know will encroach on those boundaries.

What is one thing you wish you had known when you started your Entreprenista journey?*

That is takes TIME!!!!

Are you a Mamaprenista? If so, please share your best advice for simultaneously managing a business and a family

This is a hard one for all the type As out there.  I think it's important to remember that owning your own business doesn't mean you have to be a slave to it and that Rome wasn't built in a day.  When you really embrace that, work can wait!!!

What's the one app on your phone you absolutely cannot live without and why?

Voxer....it's where my Style School group chat lives and it's pure GOLD!

What is your favorite business tool or solution and why?

Onboarding sequence for new members! It's so important to me that new members feel supported right from the beginning of their journey and my emails do that for me!
