Describe EBY in a few words?
Product and purpose in a box.
What made you take the leap to start your own business?
I wanted to create a consistent revenue stream to empower women out of poverty into business.
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
Microfinance.
Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
I used to host luxury lingerie shows to raise awareness for microfinance redirecting the power of seduction to the empowerment of women. That was the start of my journey that led me to where I am today. There was never one plan it has been the same vision just different iterations of it
We always learn the most from our mistakes, share a time with us that you made a mistake or had a challenging time in business and what you learned from it?
Being on a Magento platform was the biggest setback in my business. I have learned to question everything and anticipate the downside of any tech before bringing it on to my tech stack.
What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?
We have impacted over 15,000 women out of poverty and into business since the inception of the business.
When hiring for your team, what is your go-to interview question? Please share any hiring tips you can share from your experience?
What is the best use of your life? Tips: give them real life challenges their role would experience and see how they would solve for it.
How has your business or industry been impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic?
Product delays and the worst was the loss of financing at the beginning of the year.
What's next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
An even deeper relationship with our customers. Insane new prints and neat products to complete her underwear drawer. More exclusive content from Deepak Chopra to help our audience become the best version of herself.
What is the biggest lesson you have learned in 2020?
I have to be operating a high frequency to attract what I want.
What do you know now that you wish you knew when you were first starting your business?
You need to raise 4 times as much as you think you need.
How have you managed to stay grounded this year?
Meditating and traveling.
What's something our audience would be surprised to learn about you?
I can play the air guitar better than anyone.
What are your top 3 tips to stay productive each day?
Obsessive lists and redoing my lists, turn email off to focus on head down work and have 2 days dedicated just for calls. Don't confuse hard work with results.
What does being an Entreprenista mean to you?
Never stop and live a life of inspiration.
