How Coach and Consultant Sarai Tave's Personal Healing Journey Sparked Moonlight Devi
September 23, 2022
Please share a brief introduction about yourself and your business:
My name is Sarai Tave. I am 35 years old, a single mom, and the owner of Moonlight Devi and The Singles Network by Moonlight Devi. I am a singles and couples coach, image consultant, and Thetahealing therapist. I help single people break thru their limiting beliefs thru mediational therapy and help them attract their most compatible partner. I host mixers for them and style them for any type of date they might be attending. I love making people happy and seeing how sometimes a little self-love can move mountains in their love journey.
What excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?
Being part of this league is surreal. The amount of support and networking workshops and feedback you get from everyone is amazing and very informative.
What made you take the leap to start your own business?
My own healing journey. I was tired of working for somebody else and tired of feeling stuck in my life. 2020 was my awakening year, I did a lot of healing and therapy. This opened my eyes to a new perspective in life and saw how much I could help if I shared my story.
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
I have worked in fashion for over 15 years. I have taught fashion merchandising for 7 years now, and I have loved every minute of it. Not wanting to get away from my fashion background, I decided to include the styling services to my business. I do not believe when people say that they do not care how they dress or look. EVERYONE feels better and like they can conquer the world when they look their best and feel their best. So fashion will always be a part of me and my business.
Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
I do believe so. Ever since I could remember I wanted to have my own business, have that CEO parking space and be a badass businesswoman in my business suit like in those Hollywood movies.
Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out and did it go as planned?
When I first started Moonlight Devi, I started it as a women empowerment business. I was hosting classes to help women find their 'sexy' again after leaving toxic relationships and were trying to gain their self-confidence back. I actually did a lot of word of mouth and facebook advertising in the beginning. It worked fine for a while until I changed the concept of my business.
What is the biggest challenge you have encountered along the way and what did you learn from it?
The biggest challenge I still face right now is getting singles to believe that there are good people out there. The dating scene and temperature out there is not what it used to be, and I find a lot of cynicism in my clients. It's hard to get them to turn the page and give themselves another chance.
What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?
I think I will never get over the first speed dating event that was set up for The Singles Network. It was manifested in a crazy and spontaneous way and honestly everything aligned for it to happen that, it has been one of the many events that I have hosted and felt like I was doing somethign right.
Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?
Yes I very much belive in work/life balance. I have created a schedule that works for me to have enough quality time with my child, quality time for myself and dedicated time for my multiple jobs.
What's a piece of advice you can share that you wish you'd known when you first started your Entreprenista journey?
This is my second time around trying to open up a business and I learned a lot from my first failed one. So the best advice I can give is to do a lot of research and projections of what you are trying to accomplish and not get anxious if it starts off slow. Be very patient with yourself your self growth your business growth, it really does not happen overnight.
What have you achieved recently that you'd like to celebrate with our community?
I signed myself up to get certified as a singles and couples coach, and I am currently applying for my master's to get my license as a therapist.
What's next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
I really want to expand the styling business and really explode the coaching sessions. I want to start hosing workshops for singles and couples to give them the tools they need to have and keep a healthy relationship.
