Describe your business in a few words:
My name is Adriana Robinson. I started this business in 2018. I was suffering from Acne all over my body and the products in store were not working for me. I decided to go the natural route and I accidentally ordered 10 pounds of Shea Butter instead of 10 ounces. I started to make stuff with it in order to get rid of it and my acne started to disappear. My friends and family encouraged me to sell! I started to sell while starting law school. I thought of it as a side hustle more than an actual business. In my third year of law school, I decided I wanted to do this full time!
What was your background prior to starting your own business?
I was accepted into law school and planned on being a lawyer full time.
Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?
No! I had no idea this would be what I wanted to do.
Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out, and did it go as planned?
My only plan was just to work on the branding, products and photography in order to catch attention!
What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?
We won a Sia Scotch Grant last year September!
Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?
I definitely believe in work/life balance. While I’m still working on this, I think the best advice is to give yourself grace. Rest is necessary.
What have you achieved recently that you'd like to celebrate with our community?
I can’t disclose too much yet but I secured a large contract!
What's next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?
We hope this is the beginning for Reina Skincare. Our goal is to sell our products in Sephora or Target!
What excites you about being an Entreprenista League member?
I am so excited to network with more entrepreneurs! I rarely get the chance to speak with entrepreneurs on a daily basis. I am so excited to hear about other entrepreneur’s stories and learn from them!
