“Find somebody to work with as a small business owner. I’m not taking out loans. I don’t have big funding. You really have to pick and choose where you want to invest in your business, but you do have to invest somewhere.”

Struggling with feelings of neglect and loneliness in an unhappy marriage, Amy Rees first took to pottery as a refuge. It was in a friend’s class that she not only found her artistic outlet, but also a community of other women going through similar life phases. Now, Amy is the founder of Personality Plates, a brand dedicated to creating hand painted ceramic tableware that celebrates solidarity and individuality. Amy’s work reflects her commitment to empowering women through keepsakes that honor their unique stories and connections.
