Describe your business in a few words:

Alla Koretsky is Co-founder and CEO of HeyLayer – the one-stop NFT management solution to help brands transition into web3.
Before founding HeyLayer, Alla spent over 15 years working as a buyer in luxury fashion, E-commerce, and subscription business startups, bridging gaps between branding, marketing, and product development. Her love for technology led her to blockchain in 2019, and she was blown away by blockchain’s ability to solve supply chain issues by creating transparency.

Her mission is to make blockchain technology available and accessible to the masses and to make sure women continue to grow in representation in this new user-owned internet.

What was your background prior to starting your own business?

I started my career in sales and brand management for Versace Showroom and then transitioned to being the head buyer for Atrium, a top destination spot in New York City. There I managed over 300 denim brands and enjoyed a fast-paced and creative work environment. I always enjoyed technology and how it can help consumers discover and interact with the products we were buying. In the following years, I became involved in a few startups in eCommerce and subscription businesses model, bridging the gaps between product and technology. After discovering blockchain in 2019, I was blown away by how it can completely revolutionize the global economy, starting with a transparent supply chain to new ways brands can communicate and grow their consumer base.

Did you always know you wanted to be an entrepreneur?

Yes

Take us back to when you first launched your business, what was your marketing strategy to get the word out, and did it go as planned?

We just launched in December of 2021, so still trying to figure it out. Web3 marketing is a bit different than Web2 marketing. The most significant mindset shift is moving from planning to something more like gardening.

What is the accomplishment you are the most proud of to date?

I am proud to be a woman and building a product like mine in a mostly male environment. My mission is to bring more women into WEB3 and show them it’s not complicated or scary, just takes some curiosity and time to learn.

Do you believe in work/life balance? What are some of your best tips?

Absolutely! Being a wife, a mom of 3 boys, and CEO of a fast-moving startup I need to set clear boundaries between my priorities. Tip: Don’t be afraid or feel bad in sometimes saying “NO”. I try to have one day- usually Saturday for me where I disconnect.

What have you achieved recently that you’d like to celebrate with our community?

We have officially partnered up with Surfing.com, Bravo Media and Eggchain as our first brand clients helping them incorporate NFT into their businesses.

What’s next for your business? What can we expect to see over the next few years?

We will reach mass adoption!
