Why we love her:

Besides being a female in a heavily male dominated industry, Danielle is probably the last person who should have ever succeeded in the fitness and nutrition world. As a overweight kid, she grew into a morbidly obese woman who smoked 2 ½ packs of cigarettes a day. She turned her life around a handful of years ago and in 2010 road her bike ride across the US breaking several records and became the first woman to complete the selected route.

D’fine Sculpting & Nutrition LLC was launched soon after that ride and has since spread to three major US cities; Chicago, Dallas and Atlanta. Their business model is very unique and is considered a “rebel” by their peers!

D’fine was started because Danielle had a training manager from a “big box” club treat her horribly (so much so that she almost gave up after her first 100 lbs down). She vowed that D’fine would never be like that and that she would bring ethics to the fitness industry. That people would never be second to profits…and when your sincere people can feel it.

Claim to fame:

Danielle has developed a mathematical formula based on derivatives of volume per kilo unit per muscle pound and percentages of the heart rate reserve along with an identifying algorithm pattern for fitness. Her wellness program has caught the attention of the insurance industry because of its scientific foundation and high rate of returns.

What she’s up to now:

Right now she’s working heavily on the corporate wellness initiative with insurance companies as healthcare reform impacts small businesses across the US the most. She plans to expand the Chicago market through 2014 through her non-profit program to reach those who are in low income situations. In addition, Danielle is putting together her first speaking tour.

Little-known fact:

She totally air guitars like a rockstar!

They say she is:

“Whooooooooo Hoooooooooooo” and Driven like the Metra Train – either get on board and strap in or get the heck away from the tracks!

Guilty pleasure:

A closeted Pittsburgh Steelers Fan

What she loves most about her city:

Bike trails…”there are more beautiful bike trails in and around Chicagoland than any other city I’ve been to”.
