We’re twelve hours into 2014 as I write this blog from my father’s lounge in Florida after holiday festivities. I have a sparkle in my eye (so excited for the future) and sparkles in my glass thanks to the fifty million bubbles in a bottle of Veuve Clicquot yellow label!  Brigitte Bardot is one of my heroines and was quoted to say, “Champagne is the one thing that gives me zest when I feel tired.”  After our New Year’s Eve celebration last night, I say, “bring on the zest”!

I glance over at my Waterford champagne flute and I’m feeling high “class”.  Class is stylish excellence.  Class is SO MUCH about fashion and our fashion sense gives the world insight into whom we are and it begs the question, how am I doing?  Spot on fashion can lead to love for in three short months I have “fallen” and I’m sure it was my black, one-shouldered sweater that captured my beau!  Professional polish also factors to success in business.

Listen up!  A first impression says everything and everything counts.  It’s been said that you never get a second chance to make a good first impression. In addition, a judgment is made about you in approximately four seconds, thus everything about your image is important.  Remember girlies, you have total control over your “classy” fashion statement and since it’s responsible for 95 percent of the first impression you make, make it count!

What’s your next step?  Meditate on your personal style.  Am I a romantic, classic, dramatic or creative dresser?  Many women are a combination of a couple, and on “date night” I always suggest a touch of “romantic” with a strategically placed ruffle or spot of lace.  Wink, wink!  Study fashion so you know exactly what to wear and in what combination. Read a book, take a seminar and/or retain an image consultant to learn to truly “own” who you are in the world!

In this New Year, I challenge you to take a step up relative to your “class quotient”.  An empowered step outside your safe fashion box and IMAGINE the possibilities!  Will that “swish on in chiffon” trend this season reel in the man of your dreams?  Will the “power of pants” trend propel you to the next level in your career?  Remember, the root word of imagine is “image”.  It’s SO important that you nail your “best foot forward” image!  Your image defines YOU in everything you do!  Don’t forget to “bring the zest!”
