You may have been hearing the branding buzz, you may have seen the branding buzz, you may even be trying to create branding buzz…either way, like social media, branding is here to stay. Those who can understand, embrace, and implement branding will be ahead of the curve and able to start 2012 with a BANG.
Recently, I’ve done a few speaking events and was able to poll a diverse audience, so it is safe to say that not everyone has understood that we have shifted from push to pull marketing. What does this mean? I always like to simplify things for my audience, so what this means is that a SHIFT has occurred, and now I’d like to introduce you to our new reality. The consumer is in charge and wants what they want when they want it. If you can’t communicate your messaging in a simple, yet powerful manner, your target audience won’t “get you” and will look elsewhere. {Think about how you behave as a consumer.} Bottom line: It is now the responsibility of the business to communicate their brand, their value and create that ultimate customer experience.
The biggest reason most businesses are failing is because they are casting a wider net instead of digging deeper. As some of you know, I have shifted from marketing to micro-marketing to micro-niche-marketing. What does this mean? It means that in order to survive and then thrive, you need to be very specific and target a very narrow audience – know everything about them and share all the nuances of your expertise. You can’t please everyone, and you cannot serve everyone, so “less is more.” From experience, you will be able to grow much quicker as soon as you can implement a micro-niche-marketing plan. How do you do this? It all starts with your brand…
Here are my top 5 reasons branding should be a priority for you {if you need more, I have them!}:
- A brand is your time-saving filter to ferret out opportunities and screen out landmines
- A brand is your magnet to attract your target audience and brand ambassadors
- A brand provides you with confidence to convert your audience to customers
- A brand shows instant credibility to enable your audience to trust you and pay you for services
- A brand demonstrates that you are a serious business and prompts customers to choose you
I hope you are starting to realize that you are communicating your brand every day, in every way. Just be you, fulfill what you promise and always give your best.
